A very good quality and ornate French bronze gilt antique mantel clock in the rococo style with pierced scrolling foliate design, moulded detail and diamond pattern to the sides finished with a vase of flowers to the top.

The clock has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals and a French eight day movement on silk suspension which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell with outside count wheel.

Friedrich Ludwig Hausburg was born in Berlin in 1817. He worked alongside his uncle in Paris who specialised in clocks and luxury items. Hausburg joined forces with Promoli in 1840 in Liverpool, who advertised themselves as Jewellers, Watchmakers, Manufacturer’s of Desks, Dressing Cases, Lamps and Chandeliers.


Hausburg retired in 1860, selling his business to W.H.Tooke who continued it from the same address.

We accept returns within 14 days providing the customer pays for the return and the item is in the same condition we sold it in and it is packaged well.
