REGENCY ROSEWOOD GAMES OCCASIONAL TABLE BY JOHN McLEAN
A very fine quality Regency rosewood and brass inlaid fold over card or occasional table with rectangular shaped stepped column and quarter beaded mouldings. The table has a shaped platform base and out swept tapering legs with brass string inlay and original brass and gilt lion's paw castors.
The table is attributed to the furniture maker and designer:-
John McLean
John McLean was born in 1770 and died in 1815. His work is highly collectable and he is known as one of the finest English cabinet makers. His work can be seen in the Victoria & Albert Museum and stately homes. His son William carried on the business until his death in 1825.
