Pair of French Marble and Bronze Gilt Table Lamps by E Kahn
An outstanding pair of French Louis XVI style vert de mer marble table lamps by E Kahn with ovoid shaped bodies flanked by bronze gilt rams heads to the sides terminating to square plinth bases with beaded moulding standing on bun feet.. The lamps are adorned with bronze gilt laurel leaf and foliate mounts with reeded column finishing to a single switched bulb holder.
Both lamps are stamped on a reverse mount - E Kahn
The lamps have been rewired and are in full working order. The 45cm wide dupion silk oyster lampshades are included.
E Kahn et Cie produced and retailed models of the most opulent and renowned 18th century furniture. From the 19th century through to the early 20th century they had premises in Paris at 84 avenue Ledru-Rollin in the 12th arrondissement and three premises in London at 6-10 St. Andrew St. and 18-21 Charlotte St where their furniture was retailed and a factory at 19-51 Gough St. A New York office was opened in 1884.
