FRENCH LOUIS XIV STYLE BOULLE ANTIQUE MANTEL CLOCK BY SAMUEL MARTI
A very good quality French Louis XIV style boulle natural coloured tortoise shell and engraved brass inlaid antique mantel clock from the Victorian period. The case has side and front viewing windows showing the clocks decorative inlaid back door and cherub pendulum and has good quality scrolling bronze gilt ormolu mounts and moulds and is adorned with cherub finial to the top.
The clock has a 5 inch cartouche dial with white enamel Roman numerals and a French eight day movement which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.
The back plate is stamped with the makers name:-

Width - 23 cm (9 inches)
Depth - 14 cm (5 ½ inches)
Circa - 1860
