An extremely good quality English figured mahogany chamfer top bracket or table clock with ebony moulding, decorative brass inlay, inset corner panels and brass moulded edges to the front stood on brass ball feet finished with a pineapple finial to the top. The clock has fish scale sound frets and decorative floral leaf brass ring carrying handles to the side of the case.

The movement is a five pillar, twin fusee, eight day with pull repeat action, top pendulum adjustment and holdfast. The clock strikes the hours on a bell.
John Thwaites & George Jeremiah Reed went into partnership in 1816. Thwaites & Reed were well known and respected clock makes who also made movements for many other clock makers. Big Ben was maintained by a team of eight for over 30 years from Thwaites & Reed.
