A fine quality arched top figured mahogany Bracket/Table Clock sat on brass bun feet with fish scale side sound frets and brass floral ring carrying handles. The Clock has an eight inch painted dish dial signed with the makers name:-
The movement is an eight day, five pillar, twin fusee, anchor escapement with pull repeat action and pendulum top adjustment. The Clock strikes the hours on a bell.
From 1823 John Jackson worked in partnership with the Jessop family at King Street then West Street in Tavistock until 1838 where he was recorded as being a watchmaker and ironmonger at West Street. He died in 1850.
